Do I need the plus sign?

No. Digits with country code are enough. A plus is removed. Do not include a leading 0 after the country code.

Can I open a group or a catalog?

Not with this generator. It only builds a personal wa.me chat link, with an optional text parameter.

Will this work on desktop?

Yes. wa.me opens WhatsApp Desktop or WhatsApp Web if those are set up, otherwise it offers the app.

WhatsApp QR code

A WhatsApp code is a wa.me link. Scanning it opens a chat with a number that includes the country code, and can drop in a greeting so people are not staring at an empty composer.

Phone number

Country code, digits only is fine — for example 15551234567

Enter a phone number with country code.

Type the number as you would for WhatsApp Web: country code, no plus required. 15551234567 is the US example. A leading + or spaces are stripped to digits before encoding. Without a country code the chat will not resolve.

Use this on a storefront, a support card, or a flyer when your audience already lives in WhatsApp. It is not a substitute for a business API. If they do not have WhatsApp installed, the link will send them to the store or the web client.
