Phone QR code
A phone code is a tel: link. Scanning it offers to place a call, which is useful on a van, a shop window, a support flyer, or a one-page menu where the number should not be mis-typed.
Include a country code when you can
Logo overlay (optional)
From this device. Embeds will not include it. Error correction switches to H.
Enter a phone number.
Include the country code if callers might be abroad, for example +1 for the US. Spaces and dashes are fine in the field; they stay in the payload so the number still reads naturally in some apps.
Print a high-contrast code and leave a quiet margin around it. If you also want a pre-written text, use the SMS or WhatsApp generators instead of stuffing a message into a phone code.
Questions
- Will this start the call immediately?
- Usually the phone shows a confirmation first. That is the device, not QR Board.
- Can I encode an extension?
- You can add pauses with commas or a p in some dialers, but support varies. A dedicated extension prompt in an IVR is more reliable.
- What about WhatsApp or SMS?
- Use those types if you want a chat instead of a voice call. A phone QR only dials.
