Compact contact
MeCard QR code
A MeCard is a smaller contact payload than vCard. Use it on a badge or sticker when the code has to stay sparse: name is required, and phone, email, organization, website, and address are optional.
Logo overlay (optional)
From this device. Embeds will not include it. Error correction switches to H.
Enter a name for the contact card.
QR Board writes the DoCoMo MECARD: format. Name is split into last, first when you type two or more words. Special characters are escaped so the payload stays valid. If you need a card that iPhone and Android save more reliably, use vCard instead.
Download PNG for a sticker, SVG for a vector layout. Test with the phones your audience actually uses; some cameras offer to save a MeCard, others show the text to copy.
Questions
- When should I use MeCard instead of vCard?
- Use MeCard when the printed code is small and you only need a few fields. Use vCard for a fuller contact that current iPhone and Android cameras save more consistently.
- Why is the name Last,First in the code?
- That is how MeCard stores a two-part name. A single word is stored as-is.
- Can I add a postal address?
- Yes. The address field is a single line. Keep it short so the modules stay large enough to scan.
